Description 

Artificial Intelligence is transforming both clinical and non-clinical operations in home health and hospice, offering powerful tools to improve patient outcomes, streamline workflows, and optimize resource utilization. This session will explore AI applications across key areas, including predictive analytics for proactive care delivery, remote patient monitoring for real-time health insights, documentation automation to reduce clinician burden, and administrative tools to enhance operational efficiencies. Attendees will gain insights into proven strategies for the decision-making journey, successful adoption and integration, navigation of the legal landscape, as well as aligning AI initiatives with value-based care goals to drive measurable results across their organizations. 


2025 Home Health Summer Camp 

Learning Outcomes 

  • Review key performance indicators for financial reporting including utilizing data from cost reports and other sources.  Identify important elements that must be addressed on agency cost reports, including non-routine supply reporting and telehealth costs.  Aligning agency financials with industry best practice 
  • Identify current Medicare reimbursement issues faced by home health agencies, including billing strategies, EVV & PDGM core calculations and best practices for analyzing the calculations and the impact on reimbursement. 
  • Emphasize the significance of aligning with your clinical staff on the financial health of your home health agency.  
  • Identify what the current audit landscape looks like for home health providers and the focus of these government medical reviews and how to prepare for the audits and how to appeal denials through to the ALJ, if necessary.

The 2025 Home Health Summer Camp will not disappoint as it will bring both industry rookies and veterans together to enhance their understanding of the fundamental financial tools and operational strategies for developing and maintaining positive financial outcomes offered in this Summer Camp. This updated 2025 program is designed for financial staff members who have some experience in home care financial management and who wish to expand their knowledge in the diverse world of home care finance.  This presentation will additionally provide an overview of the current medical review landscape and what you can expect in the event of an audit. 


2025 Hospice Summer Camp 

Learning Outcomes 

  • Define key elements that must be addressed on agency cost reports and the significance of reporting cost in the appropriate period – accrual vs cash-based accounting. 
  • Financial accounting & benchmarking for all direct hospice services including telehealth, bereavement, physician services & volunteers 
  • Review various palliative care business models and their alignment with hospice operations, including staffing structures, service delivery methods, and revenue optimization 
  • List potential reimbursement mechanisms for palliative care services, including Medicare Advantage contracts, commercial payers, and value-based payment arrangements 
  • Understand the latest regulatory updates your agency is responsible for and how you can stay in compliance with government and state agencies 
  • Hospice providers will be able to describe the topic areas of the government focus for medical review auditing.  This presentation will provide an overview of the current landscape and what you can expect in the event of an audit.

This pre-event provides an updated and thorough overview of the financial aspects of hospice, including discussion of emerging national economic and policy changes which will impact hospice operations, regulatory issues, and revenue-enhancing strategies. Hospice Summer Camp 2025 is for Intermediate-Advanced hospice executives seeking to sharpen the skills and knowledge needed to improve management hospice financial operations in this changing environment. Medical Review is a surging hot topic for hospice and this session will address the most current auditing topics and give agencies tools to help them come out on the winning side of medical review audits.  This session also explores the strategic integration of palliative care services within hospice organizations, focusing on operational excellence and financial viability. Participants will examine successful business models, and reimbursement strategies that drive sustainable palliative care programs.
